Darren Lee
As a charity we are duty bound to ’employ’ people to be a “Trustee”: perhaps the word ’employ’ is wrongly used here as trustees receive no payment whatsoever, their work is totally voluntary. I (Chairman) have known Darren, personally, for about 20 years and know in my heart that he is absolutely the right person for this position in this charity. Darren has his own online musical/records business and creates websites for the more discerning customers in the Leicester area & worldwide.
If you simply want a ‘quick fix’ website then Darren is NOT the man for you. However, if you want something far more professional and with extra’s like shopping carts, online payment systems to display your business to the world etc, then Darren is your man. You can contact Darren at either:
www.knighton-group.co.uk or www.thebebopshop.com or admin@2020voicecancer.org
And never forget that Darren can source virtually any musical ‘likes’ you may have and has provided such for clients as far away as Greece & Australia!
Darren brings the business touch to “20-20 Voice” Cancer and also his website skills, which are an absolute must as we try to keep pace with the ever changing face of this world. Utilising his skills, in the near future, we will be opening our very own online shop and relying on Darren to provide us with an up to the minute web experience in the process.
Valerie Newman
Born & bred in Wigston, Leicester, Val has always worked in customer relation positions and works full time in ‘admin’ for a busy Doctors surgery. A full time worker within the NHS, Val has a wealth of experience within the patient care sector.
She has very much gotten herself involved with charity work over the past few years and has shown a keen interest in being in the ‘engine room’ -as they say. Val has dealt with all sorts of patients over the years too and knows only too well what head & neck cancers can do to people, so she brings many skills to the table.
Welcome aboard Val!
Sarah Heath
We welcome Sarah Heath to the backroom team as “20-20 Voice” Cancer marches into 2021. Sarah was
asked about joining the team some time ago and has made an immediate impact. Another lady with many professional skills outside of the NHS, Sarah bring excellent organisational skills along with her. I’m sure that “20-20 Voice” will prosper with her forward thinking & long term strategies. Being an excellent organiser, Sarah brings event setting up & execution well within our range & fundraisers are the essence of any charities sustainability. She is a girl that gets things done! Welcome aboard Sarah.
Susanna Steptoe
A very warm welcome to Susanna Steptoe, a young lady I have known some considerable years and a young lady that I have great respect for. She is certainly not afraid
to speak her own mind on certain subjects. She is a teacher and commands respect from her pupils-she gets it too! A bright, intelligent & enthusiastic young lady, I am absolutely certain that Susanna will be a bonus to this charity as we march ever onwards in the pursuit of our ED (Early Diagnosis) system. Being a teacher Susanna also brings us into the realms of approaching schools with a view to educating the youth of today about the medical perils of tomorrow; ie, laryngeal cancers etc. Welcome aboard Susanna, I am sure there are great times ahead!
Dr Ruth Cherrington
Another lady I have known and greatly respected for more than a decade, Ruth was a Lecturer of all matters Media ( a very topical subject at
the moment I must say). Ruth has had several books published over the years and is an absolute natural to take up the mantle of 20-20 Voice Cancer MEDIA OFFICER! Oh yes indeed, we have unleashed our AWARENESS & EARLY DIAGNOSIS campaign so Ruth is just the girl we need onboard.
Ruth is fully aware of the situation of research, research & yet more research but is fully onboard with our Awareness campaign as she fully agrees with the need for ED (early diagnosis) for the earlier these nasty cancers are spotted then sooner treatment can begin…..the sooner treatment begins the better the chances for the patient. Simple logic really. We welcome you aboard Ruth, you will play a vital part in getting our name ‘out there’.
